CANDIDATE STATEMENTS

Jerry Allen, Incumbent – I have been an Association member since 1979, when I built my house here.   I am retired which allows me more time to spend working for the Association.  This will be my 4th term serving on the board.  I have good reading, writing skills, as well as extensive computer hardware and software, design and business experience. I have already saved a considerable amount of money for the Association by putting these skills to use. I believe everyone should get a fair shake without special treatment for board members. I believe the Association needs to be run legally, efficiently, with a goal of maximizing members’ assessment dollars.  Cast your votes for candidates who are qualified to serve, willing to devote the necessary time and effort without expecting any gain from it, and who are not running for their own self-serving reasons.

Matt Barisic, Incumbent – I have a degree I finance from the University of Southern California and a Masters in Urban Economics from the London School of Economics.  I ran the sales departments for several large companies and have coordinated large development projects throughout the Western U.S.  Presently, my wife and I are partners in an environmental consulting agency that does sustainability research for Walt Disney, Nestle, Dreyers and many others.  I love Tehachapi and Alpine Forest and feel confident that my experience will help the Board save money and work more efficiently.

Ron Dorrell, Nominee - I have lived in Tehachapi and have owned my property in Alpine since 2003.  I have property management experience and think I would be an asset to our community because of that.  I am not seeking, nor do I have any special interests, such as, having the road paved to my property.  I would like to see the community come closer together, lower association fees, and spend money frugally, while adhering to the letter of the law.  Thank you for your consideration.

Scott Fowler, Incumbent - I moved to Tehachapi in 1992 when hired at Edwards Air Force Base. I bought a house in Alpine in 1995.  I wish to stay involved and serve the Association as well as all property owners in an honest and forthright manner.  I feel there are still many ongoing issues that need to be resolved and serving one term cannot accomplish the many things that need to be addressed.  After managing a 10-year construction contract, I have extensive knowledge relative to running a business in a professional and profitable manner.  Alpine Forest Park needs some serious changes and the people need to have a Board they can respect and trust.   I would be proud to serve again and do my very best to restore the confidence and pride in our community which Alpine residents deserve.  If I am elected, this will be my fifth term serving the Association as a Director.

Ed Henson, Incumbent - My wife and I have been full time residents at AFP for the past six years after building our house here.  After being a Construction Supervisor with the State of California for 32 years, I am now retired, so I have pertinent experience, and the time to devote to working on the Board.  I have served on a Board of Directors for my church and have had extensive management experience in an office environment. Over the past several months the current board has been able to begin repairing problems with the Association that have persisted for many years. I hope you will vote to allow us to continue that work. I will never let my personal desires interfere with serving the Association in a fair and honest way.

Margie Kloth, Nominee -  My husband and I have been residents of Alpine forest for nearly 17 years now and we love our Community.  For the past 16 years, I’ve been fortunate to be employed by our local School District, working in the Special Ed. Dept. of “Speech and Language”.  In the mid-90’s, I served on our Association Board for 4 years, so I’m familiar with what’s involved in serving on our Board and would like to serve our Association once again.  We’ve experienced a lot of growth here in Alpine, which equates to more issues that need addressing.  I would like to be a helpful part in the process of addressing these issues.  If you choose to vote for me, “Thank you for your support!”

Jeff Patterson, Incumbent - My wife Sandy and I have lived in Alpine for ten years and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.  At present, I am Secretary for the Board of 2009-10 and was a member of the Board in 2002-2003.  Honesty, integrity and compassion for all should be of the utmost importance as a member of the Board of Directors along with a keen sense of knowledge in business procedures.  I am highly skilled in business management and have been known to negotiate business contracts for our Association in the past.   Keeping the costs down for all property owners is an important issue I intend to honor, especially in these difficult times.  I am proud to be part of the solution and serve again with the very best intentions for all here at Alpine.  This is a great place to live and everyone should be treated equally.  Help me to keep Alpine Forest the happy and thriving place it has always been.

David Smith, Nominee - I have owned property in Alpine for 28 years and love the open space and fredom that we have here.  I am a former Board President – 2007, ECC Director, Admin. Director – 2003-2004, 2005-2006.
